Mohamed Omer Bushara

Mohamed Omer Bushara. Born in Omdurman, Sudan in 1946. He started to draw and paint at an early age with whatever materials he could find. With the staunch support of his family he studied geography at the University of Khartoum. He won a British Council scholarship in the mid 1970s and attended the Slade School, London. He has exhibited in major museums and galleries around the world; in 1974 he was awarded First Prize, Graphic and Plastic Arts, African Arts Magazine. In 2003 he was awarded Marjory Field Award for 2004 in Printmaking by the Oxford Printmakers
