Bodil Manz (b.1943, Copenhagen, Denmark) is internationally celebrated as one of the most important and influential figures in contemporary ceramics. Renowned for her extraordinarily refined eggshell porcelain vessels, she has spent decades redefining the possibilities of porcelain through a practice that combines precision, restraint and a profound understanding of light, space and form.
Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in major museum and public collections throughout Europe, Asia and the United States.
A member of the International Academy of Ceramics and the Life Long Grant of the Danish Arts Foundation, in 2007 she was awarded the Grand Prize at the 4th World Ceramic Biennial and in 2021 a finalist for the prestigious LOEWE Craft Prize.
