A rare French clockwork wood and tinplate pond dolphin circa 1900, with grey painted metal upper, clear and black glass eyes with brown painted backs. Cream painted wooden belly, metal fin, flippers and tail. Spout hole possibly for squirting water and tie hole in fin to secure by string. 41cm long. Some slight wear and some dents. The same model has appeared in a plain G. Favet's Au Nain Bleu card box.
